Do
Unto Others By
JANA CURCIO
"I am honored to be a part of two people joining
their lives together. I treasure the experience as I hope our
clients treasure their photographs. I strive to treat our clients
in accordance with an ancient teaching of the Bible do
unto others as you would have them do unto you."
Self-Expression By
MARK HANSON
"Long ago I realized the importance of expression
and how people express their feelings in various ways. Some verbally,
some use gesture, some through material obsessions, and some just
bottle it up. Recognizing the last category as familiar, I found
my means of self-expression through creating imagery."
Yuk.
Ptooey. By
MATT MENDELSOHN
"You will never hear me utter the words
"captured memories" or "timeless moments"
or any other Hallmark phrases. I dont want to be a
part of what has been described as the Bridal Industrial
Complex. Weddings are joyful events and the photos from
weddings should reflect the exuberance felt by the bride and the
groom and their guests. You won't find me shooting the fanned-out
dress on the staircase or the pensive gaze out the window. Nor
will I ask the guys to jump in the air at the same time. Yuk.
Ptoeey. Am I spelling ptooey right??"
Won't
Find On Any List By
ROMAN GRINEV
"To me a wedding is about more
than the scheduled events that will take place. Its also
about those unexpected things that you wont find on any
list which make your wedding unique and that you will enjoy remembering
for years to come."
My
First Gig By
MICHAEL SHUTER
"It
was 1989, I was in graduate school and some friends were getting
married. The questionwhat to give as a gift? Well... what
does any artist give when they dont have much cashtheir
art. So, my present was to photograph their wedding.
It was a wonderful wedding/costume party. The groom came as a
frog, the bride came as a bird, and I came as a 1950s photographer:
a short sleeve white shirt, a bow tie, and a Fedora hat with a
press pass stuck in the brim."
A
Love Story in One Day's Work By
JAY CLENDENIN
"One of the reasons I fell in
love with photojournalism was the challenge of an ever-changing
story and while I could work on projects for several days to make
a story complete, weddings presented me the challenge of capturing
a love story in one days work. I loved the possibilities
and decided this was something I could see myself doing as more
than an occasional job."
It's
Written All Over My Face By
SANDI FORACI
"I currently teach black and
white photography to high school and college students in Southern
Maryland. My greatest satisfaction as a teacher is seeing my passion
for the art form spread to my kids. Studying photography helps
the student view the world more perceptively.
People don't ask me if I like what I do. It's written all over
my face. I'm truly fortunate to spend the hours of my day creating
images that will make a mark in the history of someone's life.
It's incredibly rewarding."
My
Desire to Work Hard By
SARAH VOISIN
"A wedding day is filled with
exciting moments, and I capture them with the same techniques
I use as a staff photographer...I earned my position on the...very
competitive staff because of my unique photographic style, ability
to capture moments, and my desire to work hard to make the best
photos possible."
In my Life By
VAL MACKENNA
"All of the things I have done
before in my life have prepared me for the demanding and rewarding
work of photographing weddings."
