WPJA Award Winning Children Photography 'WEDDING KIDS / CHILDREN':

FIRST PLACE - Robin Parrott / California

15 Points, a trophy and $171.00 Cash

Photo © 2004 by Robin Parrott

JUDGE'S COMMENTS:

Little boy looks like suitor to uninterested girl who is blasé’ about his intentions. Nice framing, good composition and use of space. Quite, telling moment.

A perfect moment. Light and yet sweet as the ring bearer kisses the hand of the flower girl.

Could a photo get any cuter?? Iloved this photo... great expression and
body language. not just a pretty picture, but one with a real moment. nice
muted colors.

SECOND PLACE - Kevin Weinstein / Illinois

10 Points, a trophy and $114.00 Cash

JUDGE'S COMMENTS:

Kids being kids for sure. Funny and sweet with great expressions and body language with a composition that gives context without being busy.

In true little guy and gal form... decked out in their wedding finest doing what kids these days do ... playing video while their older counterparts enjoy what older kids do.. A great moment.

THIRD PLACE - Matt McGraw / North Carolina

5 Points and $57.00 Cash

JUDGE'S COMMENTS:

Joyous moment with four faces all reflecting the play circulating throughout the image. Even though the boy is looking at the camera as three lift the bride his bemusement is infectious.

Nice angle- beautiful crisp lighting and unexpected situation.

FOURTH PLACE (tie) - Mindy Myers / Iowa

JUDGE'S COMMENTS:

Something very tender and private about this image. It’s not the classic kid being cute; it’s the quiet moment as a child seemingly deals with the mature responsibility of being in a wedding. Lighting and composition capture the mood.

FOURTH PLACE (tie) - Andre Maier / New York

JUDGE'S COMMENTS:

A beautiful moment of the two little ones with such joyous expressions. It doesn't get better than this.

SIXTH PLACE (tie) - Bradley Hanson / Washington

JUDGE'S COMMENTS:

Quiet elegance. Subtle gesture captured that make for low-key moment. Debonair. Good seeing of an in-between moment.

SIXTH PLACE (tie) - Greg Blomberg / Texas

JUDGE'S COMMENTS:

Timeless gorgeous photo- loved the backlighting and the girls' interaction.

EIGHTH PLACE - Erin Whittle / North Carolina

JUDGE'S COMMENTS:

What can be more tender and evoke more emotion than the sight of two little hands clasped together? The photographer's got a wonderful eye to capture the closeness. What a nice treat.
