JUDGE'S COMMENTS:

Good coverage overall, nice variety, each photo adds to the package.

A strong collection of documentary photos and portraits that tell the story. A good variety of angles and lens choices. Wedding photojournalism at its best. This is the type of wedding photography all photographers should strive for.

JUDGE'S COMMENTS:

Some great moments and some unexpected photos, but it needs to be edited much tighter. A tighter edit could have made it first.

A nice collection of moments and details. Although this could have been edited down. There is a certain sameness to some of the photos. A few more detail photos would make this stronger.

A good mix of fun and poignant emotional moments.

'BEST DAY'S WORK FOR 2003'

David Beckstead is awarded THIRD PLACE in the 'Multiple Picture Story' category.

THIRD PLACE - David Beckstead / Arizona

20 Points

JUDGE'S COMMENTS:

A nice collection of moments with some details. This would be stronger if it were edited down. More variety of lenses would be nice.

A nice set of images that run the range of emotions, lens lengths, camera-subject distances, shutter speeds and angles.

Every picture had a consistent great sense of composition and artistic eye. Some really great moments. Great editing - great solid job.

Good wedding story telling. Nice moments with some graphic image and motion blur mixed in. Excellent coverage.

'BEST DAY'S WORK FOR 2003'

Huy Nguyen receives an HONORABLE MENTION in the 'Multiple Picture Story' category.

HONORABLE MENTION - Huy Nguyen / Texas

10 Points

JUDGE'S COMMENTS:

A tighter edit would have helped. Plus the mixing of color and black and white took away from the impact.

Nice use of different angles and lighting techniques. Nice variety.

Nice use of a variety of angles. Good moments and expressions. The detail photo of the hair should be edited out, it brings the whole package down. The photo from above the dance floor is very interesting, different and creative.
