Liked the different perspective - photographer was good to get on the floor and get this angle.

Good use of selective focus, lighting and composition.

JUDGE'S COMMENTS:

No explanation needed here. You can tell what they are thinking and there is good lighting to boot.

A sweet moment of eye contact and silence.

JUDGE'S COMMENTS:

Like the insider's perspective from inside the limo. Nice natural lighting and expressions from the women.

WPJA NOTE ABOUT THIS PHOTOGRAPH:

02. Ceremony (description)
Can be from the limo/transportation arriving at the ceremony site through the receiving line.

For this particular contest, this image fit the category description though it may look out of place in a ceremony category. Some future contests may include a category for 'Transportation' related images.

JUDGE'S COMMENTS:

Expected bride and groom kiss, but in a completely surprising environment. It seems like the photographer was a great 'fly on the wall' because nobody else was looking.

Unusual location, nice moment.

FIFTH PLACE - Evrim Icoz / Oregon

JUDGE'S COMMENTS:

Nice moment & reaction. Unusual place for a wedding. I hope that lady in the corner is ok.

Smart eye for shooting wide and waiting for the woman's hand to reveal so much emotion.

SIXTH PLACE - Eric Francis / Nebraska

JUDGE'S COMMENTS:

Loved the expressions- captured a wonderful moment. Photo is so interesting, that the eye keeps going back and forth between the guests and the bride.

Great off-beat moment with each face adding to the photo. Looks like a Diane Arbus special.

JUDGE'S COMMENTS:

The expression on the bride makes this photo. The color and lighting distracts a little, but the moment carries it through.

Liked the expression on the bride's face. captured a funny little moment in a normally serious situation.
