2003 WPJA
Wedding Emotion:
FIRST
PLACE - Eric Francis / Nebraska

JUDGE'S
COMMENTS:
A
very touching photograph that celebrates the importance of family.
It is also a sad photograph that shows two lives being lifted
to new heights while another slowly fades away.
Such
a tender moment coming from the kisser.
SECOND
PLACE - Amy Deputy / Maryland

JUDGE'S
COMMENTS:
Has
an honest and real feel. The body language of the subjects and
the moment before the kiss creates a little frozen tension.
Fantastic frame. The brides open hand under her veil. The bride-
a mirror image of her mother.
THIRD
PLACE - Christopher Record / North Carolina

PLACE - Eric Cable / Oregon

JUDGE'S
COMMENTS:
The
photographer was able to capture a nice subtle exchange between
the young boy and bride. The lady has a nice expressional gaze.
The dark framing helps draw in the viewers eye to the two
subjects.
5
- Bill McCullough / Texas

JUDGE'S
COMMENTS:
The
low angle and framing creates a nice slice of life image of children
praying with their family. The boys fervent face carries
the photo.
Now
thats praying.
6
- Jennifer Wheeler / Minnesota

JUDGE'S
COMMENTS:
A fathers pride welling up as he sees his daughter for the
first time on her wedding day. Nice composition and use of distance
to portray the idea that he is seeing her for the first time that
day.
7
- Jennifer Dery / California

JUDGE'S
COMMENTS:
The
couple hanging out near the ATM seems like a candid photo that
is helped by good composition and use of space.
Tender
and funny.

COMMENTS:

JUDGE'S

Unique
choice of not including the grooms head brings attention
to the brides expression.
