2003 WPJA
Wedding
Photography Awards : Kids
FIRST
PLACE - Huy Nguyen / Texas

JUDGE'S
COMMENTS:
Has
a great feel and mood. The use of dark space around this image
helps draw your attention to the sleeping girl.
Beautiful.
Angelic,
sweet photo of a tired little girl weary from a long day. Clean
simple image that says it all.
SECOND
PLACE - Eric Francis / Nebraska

JUDGE'S
COMMENTS:
The
color and composition of this image as well as the boredom of
the little girl creates a nice scene. The repetition of the flowers
and the photographers choice to not include the womens
faces was well done.
THIRD
PLACE - John Hong / Washington

JUDGE'S
COMMENTS:
Norman
Rockwell-like image of kids eating ice cream at the soda fountain.
Nicely done.
Love the boy with his back to the camera completely abosorbed
in his snack.

JUDGE'S
COMMENTS:
Nice
moment of interaction between a concerned girl and the photographer.
All of the elements are in there and the girl trying to hush the
noise of the camera is great.

JUDGE'S
COMMENTS:
A classic looking image. Love the window light and clean background.
7
- Christopher Record / North Carolina

JUDGE'S
COMMENTS:
This
category had some nice images, but there were other kid photographs
in the other categories that could have done well in this one.
This image had a nice moment with good expressions. The behind
the scene quality of this image makes it a winner.
8
- George Weir / Pennsylvania

JUDGE'S
COMMENTS:
This
image was perhaps the best pure image in the category, but it
was not sure if it belonged in this category. Technically there
is a child in the image, but it is a stretch to put this in the
kids category. Still this is a great moment with good use of space.
The photographer could have gotten a little closer, but it still
is nice.

JUDGE'S
COMMENTS:
The
expression and body language of the little girl makes this image
work. It also has nice light and a good feel.
